How Do I Get My Wife To Wear

Carthage and Sidi Bou Saïd

The morning was relaxed. After a breakfast in the à la carte restaurant, combined with a long wait and a selection of cheeses, consisting of a single variety, we have set ourselves comfortable on the balcony and on deck by the pool. You could see the Tunisian coast well - and later even some ferries.

against 14 clock we arrived in La Goulette.

We had a book out from the ship-organized trip. The meeting place in the theater was organizing something Italian, but at some point we have done well and have, in the entry (Cruising atypical entry procedures with the heart's own passport) also found our bus.

The tour was great. It went by bus and only a competent guide through the old port of La Goulette of Carthage, then it was tired of sightseeing.

One must be aware that the archaeological site of Carthage is not fully preserved, but consists of a collection of old stones. The site was used long centuries as a quarry. Since its inclusion in the list of UNESCO world cultural heritage, which should have improved.

I found the ruins still fascinating. With a little imagination you can imagine what it looked like the old days. The seaside location is unique.

Beautiful warm it was - I think about 36 degrees.

We also have visited the museum, which I found very interesting.

Then we took the bus to Sidi Bou Saïd . This time was for itself. Could be seen with a guide in a typical house that serves as a museum and provides information on normal life, go and visit it.

Sidi Bou Saïd is wonderful at sea, increased slightly so that you have a beautiful view. It has a reputation as an artist village and one gets the impression that all tourists coming here.

I did it at the beginning of hectic, but if you went a few streets away, there was a kept.

are beautiful white houses and the almost universally held blue doors, windows and balconies.

Tips for Tunis and Carthage:
  • From the boat we see a beach, which many people are in the water for swimming. Estimated to run about 5-10 minutes. However, I have heard that this was a pretty dirty city beach. From a distance it looked good.
  • There is a station on the TGM near the harbor. This can be good and cheap to Tunis or Carthage travel. On the Internet and on-site research. This we need local money: ATMs are in the vicinity of the port probably exist or is exchanged for an exchange office or bank.
  • traveling companions of us have made a personal tour by taxi: After some haggling they have paid for 4 people including tickets and tip 75 EUR - Carthage, Sidi Bou Saïd and a city tour, including Tunis.
This is part of a travel report on my cruise 7 Days Western Mediterranean with the MSC Splendida, details can be found here .
