flying visit Barcelona Marseille
Briefly: For Barcelona it takes longer ... ;-)
Although we arrived early in the morning, but by 14 clock the ship was already in the direction of Tunisia, so you had to be increased by 13 clock back on board. Half a day is definitely too short for this city.
After a quick breakfast (great view from the bar above), we take the shuttle bus into town (it is near the Columbus statue let out) and then went on foot.
La Rambla and the alleys are so early in the morning almost extinct, but nice to stroll through.
liked me the good including beautiful cathedral cloister and the ability to climb onto the roof to catch a view of Barcelona.
We even looked in a lot nearby and then to the Metro (quite easily) drove to the Sagrada Familia.
It was really crowded - massive visitors from all over the world and a long queue at the entrance. The visit was therefore postponed to a next time.
We continue with the metro to Plaça de Catalunya and have watched with Casa Milà and Casa Batlló two other works of Antoni Gaudí before we head Port and the ship is back.
The trip was beautiful, you could see the whole coast and after some time suddenly came dolphins (or porpoises or something - you're so high up and can not see it exactly) that accompanied the ship and jumped around happily .
The temperatures were perfect on such a large ship can be an afternoon sell well. Against 20 clock you could see on the horizon Menorca.
After dinner we strolled through the ship or something - interesting to see what there is everything. The live music is surprisingly good and the cocktails this course.

Shooting Neck Pains Left Side
morning we had a great view of the French Riviera and in Marseille, where we arrived around 7 clock.
We took the shuttle from the ship offered (10 EUR) in the city. The bus stopped near the Stock Exchange near the Old Port (Vieux Port ).
The second largest city in France, I knew just from passing by. Previously she was pretty notorious, but now it is safer there, we felt comfortable.
We have let the old port and the streets there anything affect us and are comfortable then marched towards Notre-Dame de la Garde . Since it was Sunday, most shops were and the roads relatively empty, but you could get a first impression of the city: Marseille we loved.
The landmark Marseilles, which is exposed on a hill worth lying church Notre-Dame de la Garde . In particular, the views of the city, the sea and the region around Marseille is absolutely amazing.
Here is the view of the sea and the Château d'If: are
From the church we the other direction down the mountain on the march. But the smells remind us of hot summer days in Provence.
in a small square, we have taken a break and stows away what we had bought recently in a Boulangerie. Yummy! The French pastries are unique. :-)
Then I went to the coast. There we found a beach where many locals were. There was also something to drink, food and a lifeguard. The sea was refreshing and really good for swimming.
After some sun bathing and swimming, it was then high time to go back. Unfortunately, had we have no meaningful map with (on our return we see ausliegen near the ship which then ...) so we are quite a detour had us running up and miscalculated the time. Taking a bus or a taxi would have been more appropriate. We arrived a little late for the last shuttle, but fortunately had also delayed, so that we could ride more.

Genoa, embarkation and sightseeing
at 7:45 clock went off you, depart from the hotel near Verona in the direction of Genoa.
The views from the windows were sometimes interesting, sometimes soporific, the region was rather flat. Somewhere we saw an incredible number of tomatoes. There was a short break at a rest stop it, too. Suddenly it started to rain heavily. Shortly after 11 clock we were finally in Genoa, even here it was still raining lightly. It was also good that the bus ride was over, in German hit my pain threshold is reached quickly .... ;-)
The port area is large and confusing, especially since it was raining. The queues for the ferry to North Africa was fierce - I was very happy that we chose the lazy Arriving by bus and parking lots we do not after such a long journey yet etc. had to search. Man caught relatively quickly look at the huge ship, went "oh" by the Busreihen. The Splendida dominates the other ships clear
the bus yet, already at the port of Genoa, we were selected by a MSC employees welcomed and informed: The luggage came automatically to the cabin, we went even to the check-in what has worked smoothly. The normal procedure, we show evidence material we had already checked in via Internet, if I remember correctly, that was some review, a photo taken, printed out the boarding pass, etc.
Everything is illuminated. The Lady of hand baggage control even asked yet, what medicines we have here (they had recognized vial) and whether it was a question of Bach Flowers, which it does well not so good when they are irradiated, interesting tip. The check-in procedure will take place in a large building, you can also additionally booking beverage packages are built a lot of items. On the ship there is wine or beverage packages that can also order the book already - we have not bought anything, because we want to stay flexible and I think that for us was a good decision. Thus one is flexible, sometimes wine, sometimes beer, cocktail times, sometimes water and sometimes juice, drink coffee times.
We are as fast as possible to our cabin (including a short note about the photo found here), have made us freshen up, then are the buffet restaurant and have a fairly healthy lunch (salads, fresh vegetables, delicious !) eaten. It was pretty empty and we had a table by the window overlooking the city. Really nice! We sit on deck 14 according to high and has a great view of Genoa. The rain had stopped and slowly. We were pleased that we were so early, got some food and even had time for a stroll around Genoa yet!
Our bags were not there, so we are the clothes we had worn on the bus, marched through the city. In the bus it was cool, then in Genoa properly warm, clear, end of August. Therefore, the tip for next time: grab something easy to get changed in your hand luggage! :-)
From the ship is one in 5-10 minutes easy walk from downtown. Also, a metro station is within easy reach, so you could even shorten. There are also bicycles for rent. We are, however, run and have allowed us to drift. In the city there are always times maps, also the ship is so high that it looks almost everywhere and therefore can focus well. Short 13 clock we are going, we were back by 17 clock.
The City has us really excited! Many small streets, interesting shops, churches, houses, etc. We took a lift on a hill, totally inconspicuous hiding, access in the middle of this photo:
From the top you have great views of the city, the port and of course the sea.
The corridors to the lift back and lift the building up (a type of tower) I found interesting.
The Cathedral of San Lorenzo have with a lot of black and white and really worth a visit we saw a synagogue, visited a train from the outside - and are all marching along many streets, have houses, cathedrals, plazas, fountains admired, etc.
Here are some impressions:
some point we have found a wonderfully cozy little square (Piazza San Giorgio), with another small church and a some seating outside. There we drank a Caffé to return to gather some strength.
Then it was high time to return back to the ship. For the aquarium and other sites was no more time. Genoa definitely worth even a longer visit - logical really when you consider what history has the city. So we are back to the ship.
Our luggage had been there already. At 17:30 the clock was mandatory life drill.
Then we are to sail on deck (in the background, the Coral, on the - as I found out later - a virtual blogger known was) and have Genoa and the Ligurian coast once admired from the sea!.
We had been allocated for food Session 1, although we are the 2nd Meeting had requested. The first session begins at 19 clock, since we have had no appetite. The change was not, they want to try what they can do, tomorrow we are advised. Addendum: In the evening on it worked: we were now at the second Particular meeting. I think she sort by nationality, which I do not really, but we had luck and 2 nice young German couple at the table with we had a lot of fun.
We were not hungry anyway, otherwise we could have also easily get into one of the other restaurants to eat. Instead, we have read on the balcony a bit.
At 21:30 we went to the theater for the show program. With the American entertainment on the Jewel keep it but can not make comparisons on such a top-level anything. We are still a bit strolled on the ship have been drinking on the deck 14 at the cocktail bar and are after a busy day, shortly after midnight in bed.
